I use Womble MPEG Video Wizard for editing the video (AVI files) then encoding with TMPGEnc 2.5 because projects made with Womble MPEG Video Wizard can be directly open in TMPGEnc encoder,(no frameserver is need), but I have problem when I want to change speed in some video clip to slower speed for example. After encoding with TMPGEnc (field order is bean alredy readen when I load the video file made with Womble project) but when I play encoded MPEG 2 file on DVD player the picture motion is not smooth enough.
I don't know how to explain but picture quality is not so good. At the other hand, picture quality is exellent 720x576/8000Kbs when it is encoding without changing the speed of the video. Any sugestions???
    Regards.

Slow motion requires the addition of extra frames. These frames need to be created based on existing frames. The quality of the motion produced is entirely dependent on how well the software can fill the gaps. Some software uses a blending method, some extended cross-fade (similar to blending), and really sophisticated software uses a mixture of warping and morphing along specific motion paths. I would suggest that this is something that womble isn't very good at, and a different method will have to be used if you want better results.

Software that can do good to excellent quality speed changes include Vegas, After Effects with the Twixtor plugin amongst others.
