    Hi all

Despite downloading the manuals for the panasonic DMREH50 and DMREH60EB i cannot decipher them enough to answer my deal make or break question. When you dub a series of titles from HD>DVD are the titles merged into one big title on the DVD or do they retain their "individuality" i.e. 5 titles on the HD transfer as 5 titles on the DVD. Also is there any difference between the high speed dub and normal dub with regard to this question.

Thanks to anyone who could shed a bit of light on this.

I have a Pioneer recorder rather than a Panasonic, but I can't imagine the titles would be joined when copied to DVD. On the Pioneer I can choose to join titles in the playlist before copying to DVD, but the default is to keep them as individual titles. It makes no difference whether it is a high-speed dub or real-time copy (except the quality is higher with a high-speed dub).

Studying the Pioneer vs JVC manuals to make or break my own deal, I see a possible discrepancy in the High Speed dub process.

    Video Mode Compatible Editing
    – Edit points
cannot be set with absolute precision, but highspeed copying to Video mode DVD will be possible.

    Frame Accurate Editing
    – Exact edit points are preserved, but high-speed copying to Video mode DVD will not be possible

After further review, the JVC manual shows issues with High Speed Dubing where combining segments recorded at different bitrates.

On the bright side, the 633 is on the way.
