Once I backup one of my dvd's I find that when I try to play it only about one half og it plays. Once it reaches that point the dvd player starts to hang up. At first it will hang for a few seconds and then continue to play but as time goes by it finally hangs and will no longer continue.

I am currently using "Clone DVD2" as my burning software. It was recommended as one of the best but I sure don't know if it is.

If anybody can help me out it sure would be great as I really want to backup my collection.

    Thanks,
    Booth

  2. Symptomatic of cheap media (or less than stellar media-burner compatibility). Try some Japanese Maxells, Taiyo-Yuden, or RICOHJPN.

I doubt it's your software, but you could try DVDShrink (free).

What Brand? And what is the media code? To find the media code download dvdinfopro or dvdidentifier to find the MFC...This will help us find out if the media is to blame....

To answer your question, I have been using "Maxell" DVD+R blanks.

    Thanks,

  7. I had a similar problem with a Sony DVD player and Memorex +R DVDs. After about an hour the DVD player would stop playing the DVD. If I started from the begining of the DVD it would not play either. If I let the player cool off for a couple of hours it would play again from the begining or from the place that it stopped originally.
Your problem could be your player. Check the DVD on another player.
