dvdr won't play when burnt

I have been using dvd decrypter, dvd shrink and nero successfully for a while now to burn my dvd's. However this past week none of the dvd's I've burnt will play in my standalone dvd player. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but still no joy. I have tried using a dvd+rw and that works fine! I am really perplexed by this, has anyone got any solutions? I have read through the forums but can't find anything that helps.

What brand of media are you using?

And have you always used this brand of media?

I'm using gigatain, however I have used half of the pack successfully.

If nothing else has changed in software or hardware, it seems to point to media. It can change quality in the middle of a batch.

Especially when a RW works and the regular type doesn't. You could pick up one or two discs of better quality brand media that is compatible to your burner and player and give that a try. At least that would take media problems out of the equation.
