about Shinco portable dvd players. will or wont play dvd-rs?

someone please help

i recently bought a shinco dvd player (portable)

the spec says it plays dvd-r and dvd+r but i cant seem to get it to play my dvd-r's?

i was uspet but then i found out that it could be the discs quality impeding playback, the discs are hyundai with a lead in code by infosmart

but now i just want to know from anyone out there who also owns a shinco dvd player, which discs are best for playback on these machines?

i need people who have experience with these machines, just tell me what dvd-r's play in them (definately not hyundai)

please, i'm kinda lost and some of u know what ure talking about

id say disc quality,but it may be the way they were burnt.
have you got access to a dvd-r that hasnt been copied on your equipment,or a different brand.
that could narrow down the possibilities.
