hi, heres what im trying to do:
have a dvd with all the files(vob1,2, ifo's, etc,) and all i'm doing is taking one vob file out, edit with womble, and do an automatic save(no re-encoding).
my first problem-
when i try to add to tmpgenc dvd author, it gives me a warning saying that the combined bitrate exceeds the dvd standard, even though i didnt alter any bitrates, so its the same as the original dvd vob(with ac3-5.1), just trimmed.
although after i authored it anyway, it played back with powerdvd.
second question-
What i really want to do, is not author the dvd again, but use all the menu's, files, vobs etc..from the original dvd and burn it with the vob i edited, so basically i want everything like the original dvd, only difference is replace the original Vob with the edited vob.
Is this possible? as i want all the functions of the original menu and structure.
thanks

Often times on the excessive bitrate issue you can click "ignore" and you'll be able to author the dvd in tda. Though whether or not it will be completely compatible is another question. Try it on a rewritable disc if you can click the "ignore" button. Works sometimes.

yeah, it works with powerdvd, but i havent tried it on home dvd player yet. Maybe i should get a dvdrw some time :P
so what about editing a vob and keeping the rest of the dvd the same, it will work?
or once one of the vobs are edited, then the ifo's and the rest of the original files wont recognize the edited vob? -
ive just used DVDlab pro, and imported the vobs that i edited with womble.
I chose a simple menu(none :P ), and then compiled, but not all the vobs are in the video_ts folder, and its only about 50MB all up!
What am i doing wrong?
also i get messages from dvdlab when i import the vob files, it says open gops detected, but i can continue.
DVD author says bitrate exceeds dvd spec limit, just before i author too.
Even thought some of the vobs are untouched originals, and the edited ones aren't re-encoded.
i like dvdlab, because the menu are customizable, and you can mix different format vobs. Whereas i cant with dvdauthor(cant even delete buttons), but its much easier to use.....and i cant see much wrong with womble, unless im missing an important setting.
