  1. Geez, sorry to keep bothering everybody but I just keep running into problems with this project of mine. I'm just about done but there is one problem with the Final Output that I just can't figure out.

I'm testing my final output DVD in MPC and everything works just as it should except for one thing. The main feature of my DVD (Episodes) plays fine when it is started from the very beginning of the file. However, if you skip a chapter or start from a chapter, basically if you play from anywhere in the file that is not the beginning, the audio will drop for a while and come back in later, usually causing the video to crash. Sometimes the audio comes back in a couple seconds afterward but, most of the time, it just disappears completely until the video crashes and then it will try to come back and sync with the video, but the end result of that is either the DVD stopping altogether or audio being horribly off sync with the video.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before? I don't think it's a problem with the video because the special features, which were taken from the same DVD as the main episodes and are encoded, I believe, the exact same way as the episodes, work completely fine, chapters and all. The only difference between the main episodes and the special features is that the Main has two audio tracks and subtitles that are not on by default, while the special features have one audio track and subtitles that are on by default.

I've tried everything I could think of but I'm getting no where. Same problem every time. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm at a loss of what to do here, thanks.

Is this playing from a DVD disc, or from a HDD folder ?

If from a disc, what brand of media are you using ?

If from a disc, does it play OK in a standalone player ?

  3. not from a disc, from a HDD folder. I don't have any other applications that will play DVD video from a HDD folder, but I did load it into DVDFab and it did the same thing in the little preview window when I skipped around the video.

And you are re-authoring from an existing commercial source, or from home made material ?
