Help-Difference in Sony Mini DV Tapes Premium vs Exellence

What (if any) is the difference in quality between the Sony Mini DV tapes labeled Premium and Excellence? If anyone knows, could you please share your knowledge with the rest of us noobs? Thanks.

The only difference is the media thats used .

Premium is very good performance , excellent is top performance .

In a math type formula too explain :

Standard : record 3 or 4 times , then recorded picture degrades
Premium : record 8+ , then recorded picture degrades
Excellent : record 12+ , same thing .

It comes down to the tape used in each product , while essentially the same thing , they are produced too meet specific requirements according to grade of media , meaning you'll always pay for what you get .

For my PVGS70, I just buy the panasonic premium grade, as I only generally record them once, and then save them(original) after converting to dvd. I always wait for sales and stock up. I believe that my last deal was a 6pack of tapes for around $3.00.
