Hi all. In capturing from my WinTV card, I see an area of distortion across the very bottom of the screen. I switched input sources and swapped cables to make sure the feed going in was clean and it is. This problem happens when I'm just watching TV from the card too, so this is independent of any problems with capture software itself.
Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this? I read in some back posts that Hauppauge had some trouble with colored lines but this doesn't seem to be the case in my situation.
Thank you all. I would really appreciate any help you can offer since the video I hope to make will be my mother's Christmas present...
Thanks again.

You are probably just experiencing typical signal noise. I get this all the time with VCR captures and sometimes with direct calble caps. All you have to do is crop the garbage off using Virtual Dub. Go to http://www.geocities.com/lukesvideo/highresprocess.html and follow step D-6 to learn how to trim off unwanted garbage.
