I have a Toshibs DST 3000 DirectTV high-def receiver.I no longer subscribe to DTV. I use the reciever to get local HDTV. My local channels are numbered 2,4,11 for network locals, and 2-1,4-1,11-1 for network high-def locals. The 2-1 (CBS Pittsburgh) dissapeared from the menu about a year ago, now I can't watch CBS HD. I've unhooked and rehooked it back up to download a new menu, but 2-1 is never there. Any Ideas? Thanks.

DTV tuners usually have a scan mode to find channels.

Also, you may have your antenna pointed away from the station while scanning.

I should have included that the signal comes from a rooftop antennae. The Tosh is just the receiver(decoder?)

I've used this rig for a couple years before the CBS dissappeared. I don't think that it's an issue of weather I can pick up the signal. The tosh isn't giving me the opportunity to get the channel. I apologize if I'm not explaining this problem properly. It sounds good while I'm typing it.

Many TV stations are relocating their DTV transmitters to perminent locations. Some are changing to different UHF channels.

Point your antenna in the direction of the transmitter and scan your tuner. Antennaweb should tell you what real channel they are on, how far and direction if you want to set it up manually.

DTV stations use virtual channel numbers like 2.1 to help you tune the station but most are really transmitting up in the UHF channels. KDKA is on DT25 see here.
