Ulead Studio comes with a real-time VFW capture mpeg plug-in (Ligos) that works with any BT8x8 capture card. When setting up the capture program, you select the default VFW driver, or the Mpeg driver. Is there any way to "extract" this encoder so it is listed in Vdub just like any other encoder? The capture program from Ulead sucks, but the plug-in is pretty good. Somebody just needs to extract the Ligos files and make make it a stand-alone VFW encoder that can be used in Vdub. Has anybody taken on this task, or know how to do it? A real-time mpeg encoder for Vdub is badly needed, and Ligos has one that works pretty good. Any takers??

OK, I have learned what two files are the Ligos Gomotion VFW capture drivers, so now is the question, how do I install this new VFM driver so Vdub can use it? The capture driver is called GMVFWCAP.dll, and the encoder that goes with it is called LsxMpgp3.dll
So, who knows the workings of VFW and how to install a new driver? (I'll send you the files if you come up with the correct answer

Don't know if this will help or not, but MS has a SDK, and MSDN docs for this.

I have the same 2 dll files from installing Winvcr
Id also love to know how to use them in virtualdub! -
There must be some programmers reading this that knows how to install a VFW plug-in??? Or, it might be that some secret code is needed to connect to the codec. Also, Ligos could make the needed mods and sell it as a codec for VFW. The current stand-alone Ligos encoder is for off-line encoding, not real-time encoding.

Here's the free wrapper dll to use

Maybe I'll take a crash course in programing. Everything is written out on that site.
