Does anyone know of anything like this? I want to record shows on a HDD set-top and have PC-connectibility so I can transfer the recordings (most likely MPEG format). The TiVo uses TiVoToGo (and it can connect via USB. And TiVoToGo is only used with the TiVo service).
I don't want anything that runs on a monthly service. I don't need the GUI or choosing the show to record or no-commercial recording. Basically what a VCR does.
(I don't want to make my own set-top. Just a nice stand-alone.)
I think HUMAX devices outside the USA can do this. TiVO is made under HUMAX but comes with a service. Is there any such product in the USA?
Thanks.
