Karaoke DVD to DVD+R?

hey fellas, I need help with backing up one of my dvd+r's
the problem is, its not a regular DVD, its a karaoke dvd. It came with a DVD karaoke system that we purchased, we want to back it up just in case the orginal disc get's scratched. The DVD doesn't have a tracklisting, basicly the dvd machine came this dvd with 2 big book's full of song names with numbers that we could insert the number reserved for the song and it'll play the music with the lyrics on the TV. Anyways here is my problem, I tried running this through the DVD clone as a normal video, outcome was theres no words you cannot choose the tracks and no audio, only the background scene's that's on the DVD. Second I tried to create a image but the DVD is 7 gigs or more.

I really need help with this one please.

Dual Layer if you want to ensure you preserve it as is. Then you can image it.
