So I used DVDShrink to rip the vob as a single file. I then used VirtualDub to convert to xvid; however, the audio becomes out of sync half way into the movie. What could be the problem? I also tried extracting the AC3 audio and then used the AC3 Delay Fixer program; and then converted it to WAV for Virtualdub - but to no avail.

What would be a better way to do this? I hate most "one-click" DVD programs because you can't set the bitrate and other things to it.

Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

In VirtualDub, I tried 'Change so video and audio durations match' and then 'Process all frames' but the audio still out-of-sync.

Is there another way to extract the audio from the vob and use that as a Source Wav in VirtualDub; would that help?

Hmm, does VirtualDub have trouble encoding vob files that are 4 gigs? I mean, "trouble" as in audio-sync problems... ???

  4. Give Auto GK a try. It has always kept the audio in sync
For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!

Use DVD Decrypter to rip to hard disk and DVDx to convert to Divx.
