  1. i joined 2 svcd mpegs together and tried to convert them with DLP.
there was no audio on second part.
i searched on here and reboot recommends using ffmpeggui to convert audio to AC3 but that did'nt work so i tried using ffmpeggui to convert to mp2.
it worked! (after i had spend 4 or 5 hours mucking about doing various things)
why does AC3 i made not work with DLP but the mp2 does?

Did you run the AC3 audio through AC3fix? That may be the reason.

  5. i used virtualdubmod to save wave, used ffmpeggui to change to ac3.
put it in DVL , it's highlighted a kind of peachy colour.
run DVL then when i play it with winDVD there is no audio but if i used mp2 it does work.

Did you create a menu ?

If so, does it have audio ?

If so, is the audio the same format as the audio on the movie ?
    Read my blog here.

  7. no didn't create menu.
i'm happy enough that it works with mp2 just don't understand why ac3 doesn't work.

  8. can some nice person tell me why the ac3 file i made doesn't work with DLP?
Is it something i've done wrong or a DLP problem?

Peach? Where? It's supposed to be green. Are you talking about the audio in the movie window or assets window?

Did you drop in demuxxed streams?

Are you making an NTSC or PAL disc and do you have strict compliancy turned on or off?

And most of all, did you test your source file after joining the svcds?

  10. i joined the 2 mpegs with womble. the audio is MPEG1 layer 2

i meant audio on finished article when DLP finished not the audio folder

it was peachy colour in file browser window.

    i did demux streams.

making PAL. dunno about strict compliance.

did test them after join and it was ok.

  11. if i open the movie with WMP there is sound but not with winDVD.
the icon for ac3 files is blocky.
    can anyone help?

  12. using ac3 makes the audio go a lot quieter anyway.
i'll just use mp2 or buy svcd2dvd or just stick to my old method mainconcept > tmpgenc author
I've been doing this stuff over 2 years and it still does my head in
