DVDAuthorGUI question

I am trying to back-up my Chappelle's Show Season 2 DVD's. I guess I could save a lot of trouble and just put it on Dual Layer. But what fun would that be. I dont want to shrink the DVD because it would have to be compressed at about 58%. So what I am attempting to do;

1. Use Shrink in Re-Author mode to rip motion menu's and approx 4GB of video. Pick a chapter point to end on. Save to HD.
2. Use VOBEdit to DEMUX streams. Doing both the motion menu and the movie.
3. Use TMPEG to join mv2 movie files into one large mv2 file.
4. Join AC3 movie files.
5. Use DVDAuthorGUI to add chapters and motion menu.

This is where the the problem occurs. I added 15 chapters in DVDAuthorGUI. I run it. During the process an error pops up. Something along the lines of "you cant add a button for chapter 9, only 8 chapters exist." So I double check the chapters and there are 15. Anyone had this problem before? Or have a suggestion as to what I am doing wrong?

Also if you have advice on how to make my process more efficient, feel free to chime in.

Sounds like something went fubar in the mpeg joining process. DVDAuthor only 'sees' the first half of the mpeg, and therefore, only adds chapters to it.
If these 2 titles are actually part of one whole title from the dvd, i suggest using something like rejig or vob2mpg to keep it all together, rather than using some type of mpeg joining program.

I used Re-jig to rip/demux the video and menu as you suggested. I then put the mv2 and ac3 in DVDAuthor GUI. Put in chapters and menu. Here is the log so you can see what is happening. Thanks for the help.

use restream to remove the end of stream markers. Also, you may want to update the gui, as there are many bugfixes since 0.997.

Thanks for the help. That got the problem fixed. Another quick question and I think I will be good to go. If I rip/demux a few chapters from different DVD's, what program would you suggest to join the mv2 files? Thanks, again.

I don't suggest joining m2v files at all. Most of the time, it least to sync trouble, and other problems. As long as their attributes are the same, just load them in as separate titles.
