I'm having some problems hardcoding subtitles onto an AVI using VirtualDubMod. My AVI was originally encoded using DivX 5.

In Vdubmod, I use TextSub to select the SSA file. Then I save as an AVI, full processing mode, FFDSHOW DivX 3. That takes 50 minutes! And DivX 3 is horrible quality.

I tried to use FFDSHOW XviD, but it gives me this error for some reason:

    Cannot start video compression:
An unknown error occurred (may be corrupt data).
    (error code - 100)

How do I fix that? I scanned my video for errors and there are no bad frames or errors. My FFDSHOW is version September 20, 2005.
