I'm using Dvd Rebuilder Pro 1.00 RC6, Avisynth 2.5, CCE SP Trial, and DGDecode. Dvd Decrypter is installed.

The Prepare, Encode, and Rebuild processes do their thing, but when it gets to creating the iso, I get these errors:
    - Building ISO Image...
    - 32k padding disabled
    - There appears to have been an ISO write error.
    - ISO Image WAS NOT successfully written.

This has happened to me twice now backing up the same dvd. So I tried disabling 32k padding, but it still didn't work. I have 'Output to ISO image file' enabled. Would it make a difference if the Source Path and Destination folder are saved on a different hard drive than the Working Path? I have the Source and Destination Path on external drive and Working Path on C drive.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

When I use DVDRB PRO I have the source path on a different hard drive, the destination folder and working path are in the same folder and on the another hard drive. I had a ISO write error as well and all it did was create a VIDEO_TS folder instead. So I ended up using IMG CLASSIC TOOL to create a ISO image then I burned with DVD DECRYPTER.

I tried using the latest version of ImgTool Classic with the VIDEO_TS folder that DVDRB made, but it's also giving me errors when it tries to build the iso.

I have the 'Source Directory' and 'Output File' setup correctly, but when I press 'Image' I get these errors:

    - ImgTool Classic_0.91.5/mkisofs: Either VIDEO_TS.IFO or VIDEO_TS.VOB is not of correct size.
    - ImgTool Classic_0.91.5/mkisofs: Unable to parse DVD-Video structures.
    - ImgTool Classic_0.91.5/mkisofs: Unable to make a DVD-Video image.

Thhat's why I figured I'd ask about DVDRB not able to make the iso since that seems to be the root of the problem and the reason why ImgTool won't make the iso either.

Are you sure you had enough space on your hdd?
And as Classic Blue smurf said - why do you need an ISO image, cant you just burn it from VIDEO_TS folder? Not only save you space on hdd, but also a time for creating an iso...

Sure I can burn from VIDEO_TS folder. I don't need to make an iso, but since DVDRB allows me to and will burn with decrypter I wanted to try that option out. But since DVDRB won't make the iso, it's bugging me and I wanted to see if I could fix the problem!

Just wanted to see if anyone else was having similar problems. I'll try a different encoder and see what happens. Thanks for the help folks.

How many characters did you put in your iso name? Similar question on the Doom9 Rebuilder forum - someone used 35 characters in the iso name and got the iso creat error. 31 characters is the max allowed.
I haven't tried a recode using RC6 yet, but had no trouble generating the iso file with the version before that one. I usually have the RIP, OUTPUT and WORKING folders on the same drive. Look at the name you gave the file.

I checked out the Doom9 Rebuilder forum and read that topic. Doesn't apply to me because my iso file name is the default from DVDRB, which is DVDFILES.iso. I'll just restart the process from the beginning with another encoder and see what that does.

    r3n4ud,
Forgot to mention - the encoder I use is CCE Basic. Other items - Avisynth and other - are what Rebuilder installs.

Because the DVDRB PRO version allows you to create a ISO image which is better to use in my opinion compared to burning with NERO BURN. Using DVD DECRYPTER to burn ISO is so much better than NERO BURN. Just my 2 cents!

Well, I tried shrinking the dvd again using DVD-RB, but changed the encoder to HC. Same result. Everything works until it comes to creating the ISO. Still get the same errors.

I'll have to ask DVD-RB creator and see what I'm doing wrong.

Maybe a dumb question. But are you sure your not working with a fat32 files system? Probobly not, but just thought I'd throw that one out there since it seems you can create a DVD directory just not an ISO.

not a dumb question at all.
just today i was being under chat pressure from few 'professionals' telling me i should have kept FAT32 for all windowses because it is 'faster' and 'better overall' than NTFS...

No kidding. NTFS is much better. Atleast IMO.
The reason I mentioned it is cause it can't handle files over 4GB's. Just thinking that may be the reason for the errors.

What I didn't realize until recently, was that my external hard drive was FAT32 . And that is where I was trying top save the iso. I only checked my main hard drive for NTFS and not the FAT32. So that was the problem all along!
