I've looked into it before a bit, basicly once you find one that you can add your own docs to (through conversion software) then you gotta find one that suppose one of the remaining formats for ebooks (MS or Adobe) which I did't find.

Eventually decided it would be easier to get a Windows Mobile PDA and use Ebook software on it... but then its gets REALLY expensive.

  4. I've built up a large e-library over the years. Most books are available in one e format or another and are often cheaper than their clumsy paper counterparts. The trick is to find a device with a good screen. Most devices are not suitable for hour upon hour of reading.

I ended up getting a Toshiba Portege 3480CT. It is a ultra light sub note book with a great 800x600 polysilicon screen. With a 10" color display, you can run 2 side by side books clearly, and alter the background to simulate real paper. As the unit is lite, you can read in bed or take it to the office to read, play music or watch video during breaks. Because its cheap, you don't have to worry much about accidents. The 12gig drive is just enough to keep a decent selection of books on hand for holiday reading. All e format readers are available for windows. I prefer 2000.
