FLV readers

Hi
I am in charge of streaming in a retired persons organisation. Our "customers" are not too much "experts" on computer just single users
I converting VOB to FLV using FFMPEG that a great and very helfull program thanks guys
coding H263 it is ok to read on both VLC and WMP
using H264 it is difficult to watch on WMP and best quality on VLC

does some of you know how to update WMP easely
I am afraid of delivering 1 file away and tons of ring phone later

theres only advantages in using h264.... better quality at the same size as flv...as long as the computer has flash player 10 installed it will play both flv or h264 over the web through an flv/mp4 player on a webpage.

To play flv locally on wmp you,ll need an flv splitter and ffdshow, to play h264 on wmp youll need ffdshow....

as easy as flv to stream....better quality...plays locally on a pc...why havent you changed?


if your'rer streaming the video your customers just need to press play just like vsisting youtube...if youre distributing the video on dvd why use flv? everyone nowadays has a dvd player...convert it to mpeg2/dvd

it is a bit clear for me, I do not stream VOB but is getting VOB files from DVD recorded during conferences
encodage is made the day after (will be)
locally on my PC (testing encoding results) time to time WMP (11) is getting lost reading H264 (mainly when I just read a DVD made with satsuki codec ... like wmp forget which codec must be used)
regarding streaming reader , you are right, the plugin comes with the stream ... but I found cases when it is not (may be they did not get the stream header ???? )
I will try to better undestand what is happening
