  1. I bought a BenQ DW1640 and I can't reach stable recording speeds.

With DVD Decrypter, the Device Buffer goes from 85% to 90% all the time and never reach 100%. The recording speed, when I set 4x sometimes goes to 3.3x, 3.6x, etc. When I set 8x it goes to 6.0x, 6.6x, 7.4x, 8.0x, etc. never 8x stable.

The Media I'm using is Verbatim MCC 02RG20 and Ridata Ritek G05.

    Here's a Log.

Is something wrong? Is this a common thing among BenQ writers?
With my old LG4163B I always got stable speeds at 4x and 8x.

The device is set as Master in the Secondary IDE Channel with no Slave attached, ATA33.

    My system is:
    A64 3000+ NewCastle
    DFI LanParty UT nF3250Gb
    Coolmax 400W PSU
    512mb SuperTalent CL2
    WinXP SP2

My 1640 does the same with the buffer going from 85-90 when using DVD DECRYPTER. I have no problems with discs playing back correctly when I burn with my 1640. As for the stable speeds I've noticed them as well but as I mentioned the discs playback fine which is all that matters to me.
