I trying to archive my home videos to VCD from my Sony Handicam using an ADS Instant DVD. Its connected with a standard RCA patch cable. The quality is horrible. The images have fuzz around them when they move. Any ideas? I have captured from a vcr using the same cable and I get great quality. Thanks all!

I also have a 8mm sony handicam, and had the same problem. What I usually do now is to use virtualdub, it is by far the best capture software I have found, even compared to the mega expensive stuff. However, the main deciding factors are = how fast your processor is, how much memory, and what are you using for a capture card? I am running a PIII 850, 384 Meg ram, and using a ATI raedon 64 Meg video card for capture, and quality is very good with virtualdub, or another alternative is PowerVCR (demo is available). Hope this helps,
Trixx
