  1. Hello everybody.

I just finished transferring my music video collection from DVD to MPEG2 on my hard drive. My goal is to set up a digital jukebox so that I can play music videos from my hard drive to my LCD television.

Was successful ripping files (used Mac the Ripper and Stream Clip). Problem now is that the files are interlaced.

I DON'T want to reconvert everything to get progressive scan. Progressive DVD players are the norm and Apple's DVD player will de-interlace the image.

Is there a player out there (preferably free) that will play MPEG files progressively (de-interlace)? Thanks.

VLC actually deinterlaces during playback, but I dont know if it will work for what you're trying to do.

Apple DVD Player does a crappy job of deinterlacing, by the way. For a company that usually gets most everything right, their DVD Player software is so far beneath players for other platforms its downright embarassing. No real deinterlacing, no support for VCD (and SVCD), disabled screen capturing....
