I'm using TMPGenc 3.0 Xpress to convert Windows Media Center TV files to usable DVD file format. I've noticed that sometimes teh conversion leaves my video and audio out of sync. Sometimes it works just fine. I can't seem to pinpoint what causes this sync problem. You'd think it would happen with all or non of the conversions? I usually convert at night when I'm not doing anything else on the PC so it shouldn't be a resource problem while converting. Anyone else have any ideas or fixes?

Ooops! Forgot one process that does run every night along with these conversions. It's a hard drive defragger O&O. I believe it's a memory hog too. Could that be my problem? I turned it off so I'll see if it makes it better.

Defragging the HD while encoding? Yes, that should cause a few problems.
BTW, I can't imagine why you would need that much defragging. You are probably going to wear out your HD prematurely before it gets much fragmentation.
