  1. I have the latest version of nero vision and I'm trying to author my downloaded avi files (tv shows) to a dvd-r disc for playback on a standalone player. It successfully burns the disc for me, however, I get no audio playback. Here are the properties of the avi files according to media player classic:

    Video: XVID 640x352 23.98fps 1728Kbps
    Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo 192Kbps
    Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz stereo 192Kbps

The files play perfectly on my computer, just not on the burned discs. Any ideas how I can get this audio functioning?

  3. Oh yeah, I've also tried extracting the audio to a Wav with vdub and reencoding with tmpgenc. Didn't work, tmpgenc would not accept the wav file.

Enable Audio -> Full Processing Mode. Otherwise it will just put AC3 compressed audio in a WAV container.

Tried that program, it converted my video just fine, but after burning a Video DVD with Nero and trying it on my player it said the disc was not compatible.

Good tip. I ended up extracting the WAV file with an AC3 decompressor I downloaded and now I'm converting the files with tmpgenc as an NTSC DVD. I'll just burn with Nero Vision after tmpgenc completes encoding.

    thanks
