Hello All,
I recently acquired a Samsung YP-T8 MP3 player with video capability. According to the box, it can play MPEG-4 videos. When installing the included software, I noticed a LAME MP3 encoder as well as XviD 1.0.2 being installed. I assume XviD is the MPEG-4 they're using. The application resizes the video to 160x128, I believe changes the framerate to 15fps and saves the whole thing as a .svi file.
Whenever I try to encode a widescreen movie, it resizes the flick to 160x128 regardless of the original aspect ratio. The program is too dumb to recognize anything but 4:3 TV type stuff.
Anyone know of a way to encode to svi using different software? I could always use something like VirtualDubMod to add black bars to the top and bottom of the video and then encode from there, but that seems needlessly complex.
Anyone have any real info on this SVI file format?
Thanks.
