having big problems with my dvd burner

when i try to burn something, it fails and i get the error message 'buffer too large' ... iv tried diffrent media and diffrent apps to burn ( nero and alcohol) but it still fails... also iv tried to update my firmware but i cant for some reason lol

can anyone offer any help?

Things you can try:

Make sure your drives are in DMA mode
Make sure ASPI layer is installed and working properly
Set the drive as Secondary/Master (alone if possible, drive conflict)

Then try these after the above are verified:

Install latest firmware
Install latest Nero
Check your media with dvd identifier or dvdinfopro and check it against the list of media codes here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
