    Half it if you go with uncompressed YV12, which makes sense since DVD is YV12.
    720x576x(12/8)x25x60^2/(1024^3) = size per hour for PAL.

    That is just the video though.

    True but it could be argued YV12 is a form of lossy compression vs YVYU just as 4:2:2 YVYU could be considered lossy compression compared to 4:4:4.

    So answer could be ~112GB, ~75GB or ~38GB depending on how one defines uncompressed. And this is just for 8bit Y.

    The DVD is already YV12 though so it isn't lossy.
