I'm using DVD-RB with CCE SP v2.67, with RB-Opt v0.21 as the bitrate editor....
I'm setting most of my non-(main)video files @ 500bps so I can still keep them, but have my main video at the max bitrate ... which QMatrix should I use with this to get the best results -- non blocky, more fluid video in the extras. I know this is an extremely low bitrate, but I've been using the "CCE Ultra Low Bitrate" matrix for the extras, but I hope there is a better Matrix for this low of a DVD video bitrate.
After setting all the extras/unwanted's to 500bps, my main videos usually come out to be 3000bps ... is this ok? My video's have seemed quite sharp and easy on the eyes at this bitrate..
Any help/links to better matrix tables would be great!
Thanks!

Even 3000kbps is pretty low, and 500kbps is, well, ridiculous. Based on this you are trying to fit around 3 hours of footage plus menus on each disk, yes ? Can you settle for less on a disk ?
If you are happy with the outcome, then obviously 3000kbps is fine. I suspect though that there isn't a matrix in the world that will give you decent quality for any motion video at 500kbps (less than half VCD's bitrate). If you don't want them, why not sditch them completely and hand the bitrate back to the main movie ?Read my blog here.

thx for the insight ... yes I would rather just get rid of SOME extras that I don't care about... are there any easy tools out there that can assist me with completely removing certain extras, that is easy to the common ripper? aka .. DVD-RB/RB-Opt are easy tools to work with CCE w/ a decent interface. Are there any tools out there in this same genre of tools that can let me completely rip out certain stuff. I imagine there will still be a little IFOEdit work to edit out the menu selections but I don't mind leaning that (heck, if the tool took care of that too, that would be great.
Ideas? -
... KK UPDATE ...
Looked around for something you were speaking of and found VobBlanker ... sounds exactly what I'm looking for.
Now that I can get rid of the *shyt* and keep the extras I want I have a 'sort-of-back-on-topic' question:
What matrix table should I use to small extras (say around 1k-2kbps) extras.
In fact, what matrix tables do you guys suggest for high bitrate movies? I've always used the "CCE Standard" -
Remove extras/unwanted material either with:
VOBblanker
TitleSetBlanker
EDIT: kisk, guess you found the tool just before I posted. -
hehe thx waheed...
I'll give both a testrun and see which suits me more.. whats your oppinion on the two?
Ideas about my matrix table questions above?
thx again -
I use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode (with no compression) and keep just the movie and languages/subs that I need. No menus, not extras. If I want those I go back to the original disk. This way, all available bitrate goes to the movie.

I'd do that, but I would like to keep certain extras... if I'm not mistaken the reauthor mode in DVDShrink gets rid of the menu and therefor makes the extras I want to keep void.
I do use DVDShrink for pre-processing -- w/ no compression when I'm getting rid of certain audio tracks.
