  1. Hi!

i have a problem with one of my dvd's and since i'm a newbie i hope u guys can help me out!

    So:

i downloaded a movie(DVD) , i burnt it but it stopped after playing the first 5 secs.On the computer and on my DVD player(PhilipsDVP642) as well
i tried to reauthor it using DVD Shrink, i got rid of some things(subtitles etc) , i tested it on the computer, worked fine it didn't stop anymore, the image was clear .I burnt it with UtraIso but guess what, on my player the image is grey(no colours) and keeps flipping back and forth.I already wasted 2 discs and it started to drive me nuts!!

I know for sure it's not a NTSC-PAL compatibility because my player can do both.

Any suggestions will be HIGHLY appreciated!!

    Thanks!

It could be that your download is bad, or that the media that you are using is of poor quality. What brand is the media, and what is the media code.

You sure your player can convert PAL-NTSC and vice versa? Sounds like the problem with the Black and White image and skipping.

Also, if you moved your player to a different TV, that may be the issue if it can do the multisystem. Your player may just pass the signal through to the TV, and your TV may not be able to display it correctly.

  5. My tv is a 42" JVC projection, HDTV compatible.
I played ALL kinds of dvds on this one, NTSC PAL !!No problems whatsoever.

i still think that i probably missed something. And i'm thinking about DVD Shrink .It might be a software issue though.

Try burning with DVD Decrypter. Use an RW disk to do a test, so you can always erase the disc in the event of a failed burn.
