I have been searching for software that will create a slideshow with individual sub-titles for each slide using the Windows filename of the image. I have hundreds of photos with meaningful filenames that will be the input to a slideshow for a family reunion. Without the titles, most of these old photos are just curious artifacts to the new generations who never knew these ancestors. Unfortunately, none of the many slideshow software packages that I own will do this automatically. The thought of having to manually create titles for each slide in the slideshow is not pleasant. Does anyone have any suggestions for software that will perform this task and save me the time of having to re-type all of the title information? Ideally, I am looking for the end result to be displayed on a computer laptop during the event, but also provide an MPG output, suitable for DVD burning.

  2. You might want to check out Photodex ProShow Gold, I think it will allow you to use filename. Never tried it, but I thought I saw the option in there.

I did that exact thing using AVISynth. I built an AVISynth script that is general and apparently does exactly what you want. If you're interested in it PM me and I'll sent it to you.
