    Hello Major, hello Everybody,

I'm trying to copy one of my DVD to a DVD-4Gb with 1 movie track (.m2v), 1 audio track (.AC3) and 1 SUBTITLE track( .sub)

First, i've ripped my dvd in 1 VOB file with MacTheRipper 2.
Then i've used ffmpegX j to reduce the size with the function DVD->DVD4gb.
So i have now my video and audio tracks.

Now, HOW is it possible to join a subtitle track into my DVD?

Is it possible with ffmpegX? I don't find the solution...

I'm trying with Sizzle, but it doesn't work. Sizzle ask me a .SUB file.
The only solution i've found is to use vob2sub to produce a .SUB file.

    vob2sub -o mysubtitle -s 2 -p VTS_01_0.IFO mydvd.vob

The result is a mysubtitle.sub file (116 ko) with a lot of .BMP files
I don't think that the .BMP files are good because they are red on a black background.

In Sizzle i choose my .m2v track, my .ac3 track and my .sub track.
    Then i launch the process.
Next in Apple DVD player, i can choose my subtitle track but nothing appears

If i look in the console app, i can see that sizzle tell me that:
    mysubtitle0000.bmp isn't a bmp file...
    mysubtitle0001.bmp isn't a bmp file...
    mysubtitle0002.bmp isn't a bmp file...
    ...

    In conclusion...

Is it possible to use ffmpegX to add a subtitle track with DVD->DVD 4gb?
If not... is it on your to-do list?

    Is it possible with Sizzle?
If yes, how to produce a correct .SUB file?

    Thanks in advance,

By the way, i've try to extract subtitles with the checkbox activate in the filter tab. Choose the N-1 sub track (2 in my case) and choose .idx in popup menu...

    Here's the result:

It is not possible for now, and yes, it is in my to-do list.

About the error, I'll check it immediately. Thank you.

  5. I know this is an old thread but there was mention of "vob2sub"
Anyone knows if there exists a version for the OSX?

    Thanks

  6. What do you need to do exactly?

Sorry if i jump into this thread like this, but i have a related question i think. I have this movie that only got english subs in .srt format. So i translated the .srt file to my native language (1290 lines).

My next step would be to author a dvd with sizzle, but sizzle only accepts .sub (submux format) files as subtitle file. I really don't know what format that is, and i haven't been able to find any software that can export to .sub.

Is there any solution for my problem?

  8. Yes, but you should also give some detail about the format of your movie. If it is a DVD, you should demux it and remux it so as to obtain it in MPG format instead as VOB. When you got the MPG file, you can add the SRT subtitles by running the "Author" tool.

I have one divx movie and one srt file. Sorry if i was a little unclear of what i wanted to do. I know that i kan author a dvd with ffmpegx with slectable subs. and i do that a lot with your fantastic software.

But with this particular movie i wanted to make a dvd with some fancy menues and stuff. I have never used sizzle before, but what i understand sizzle can only work with subtitles in the submux format (.sub) wich i know nothing about.

  10. You can use DVD Studio Pro, but I do not know of any srt -> DVDSP subtitle converter for DVD SP 2.0 or 3.0 (only V1.5).
