  1. I have an mpg2 file and ac3 file with 6 ch. When I tried to author Adobe encore does not accept. Do I need to have plug-in or is there any s/w that supports 6ch AC3 dvd authoring? I am sure TMPGenc does not support it. Thanks in advance.

TMPGEnc DVD Author *does* support 6ch AC3 as it allows it to "pass-through" - it just can't encode some other format of audio to it with the AC3 plugin.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Mpeg 2 files are not the best editing formats also.
    Quality is my policy.

  4. I do not want to edit the MPEG2 files. I have MPEG2 compatible to DVD standard, and I have ac3 audio exactly extracted (Matching) MPEG2 file. This just ready to make DVD authoring level, but Adobe encore does not accept ac3 6ch sound. TMPGEnc needs MPEG (with audio and video Mixed), which I do not have. I do not know how to dub using Virtual dub to mix audio and video. Any help appreciated.

Encore should support it, although it is very picky. Perhaps your assets aren't completely in spec ?

  7. Thanks to you all, including jimmalenko,guns1inger, sapulidi. Both are right, the fact is the ac3 file is corrupted one (original source)! Ran Bespliced that resolved the issue. Both Encore and TMPGenc accept authoring. Thanks again.
