I'd suggest getting a ANTEC power supply.

I second that. Antec power supply is what I would suggest too.

Yeah I think that Antec 430W would work best for you. The NeoPowers rule but they're expensive. Or if you're going the quiet fanless route Antec also makes a Stealth PSU but I think that's even more expensive than the NeoPower. However the NeoPower and the new TruePowerII series all use a single variable-speed 120mm fan instead of dual fans like the older supplies. This seems to work very well for them.

And of course if you're looking for the absolute best consumer ATX power supply:

  5. Enermax. A Noisetaker version if you want it quiet. Better than Antec, IMHO. Seasonic, Nexus, FSP/Fortron, PC Power & Cooling are other good makes.

Btw, you don't need 500w. Overclocked Prescots with dual SLI may need 400w to be futureproof, anything else 250-300w. Go check some of the excellent PSU articles at SPCR regarding power consumption.

TOMSHARDWARE.COM just did a comparison/review of Power Supplies. The results will shock even seasoned veterans. I suggest you check it out. I myself have an Antec 400W, and it's great.

  7. Antec, Sparkle, PC Power and Cooling are all good PSU companies. You really want to avoid the no-names because a good PSU will make a big difference as far as stability. I'm usually an antec fan but I think they're not really the best anymore. I'm using an antect 550W Truepower 2 BTW.

  8. Antec or Seasonic. Seasonic especially if you want near-silent performance.
