  1. I downloaded and installed the trial version of WinDVD 7 but when I try to play a DVD it locks up my computer. The program starts, seems to read the DVD and then locks up the computer. Since Intervideo will not provide any support for trial versions I thought I would try to find out if anyone else has experienced this problem and if so may have found a solution.

  2. It takes about 6 minutes or more here before I can watch a DVD. I have outgoing blocked at my firewall and WinDVD7 makes about 100 or so attempts to contact 239.255.255.250 on port 1900. I couldn't get it to recognize my SB Live 5.1 - only does 2 channels. Since I couldn't ask any questions I dumped the software.

  3. Delerious, thanks for the information. I connected to the Internet and WinDVD 7 runs ok but still hangs up when I am not connected. Probably the same situation as you had. Since I only have dial-up access to the internet it looks like I'll have to dump it too. What a bummer. I really liked the new look. These software companies are creating major problems by requiring internet connections. Guess they are not interested in customers who only have dial-up or who protect their systems with firewalls.
