Hey,
I have a VCD that I have converted to a AVI(DiVX) file in order to add subtitles to it. I have 2 AVI files named 1.avi and 2.avi and 2 subtitle files called 1.ssa and 2.ssa. I installed VobSub and the subtitles show perfectly in Windows Media Player. I then used TMPGEnc to encode the AVI files into VCD format with permanent subtitles (I have the Directshow Multimedia Reader plug-in installed). But whenever I do this I get a lot of audio noise. Is it because I'm going from DiVX to VCD? I tried seperating the audio from the video and I used the .wav file I got but I still get the same noise after encoding it in TMPGEnc.
How do I solve this problem?
Thanks!

There is by far more elegant way to achieve this, but it depends if your DVD player can play non-standart SVCD's (mpeg1video) with selectable subtitles.
