Avi rendering help

I use Vegas 5 for video editing but I have some problem with rendering the project. When I want to render, Vegas offers me only SVCD and DVD template in MPEG 2 field (PAL or NTSC), so when I press the CUSTOM field nothing's happen.I have already registered main concept MPEG plugin but I still can't use for example, bitrate of the rendered video, (choosing between constant and variable bitrate, bitrate value and etc.)
In that case I use DEBUG frame server and encoding the video with TMPGenc
2.5 but here is the main problem. For instance, AVI file about 4 hours takes tooooo long for encoding (Pentium IV, 1,7 GHz), about 12 hours with constant bitrate 8000 Kbs, I dont even thing using variable bitrate!!! I tryed WinAvi Video Converter trough frame server, but quality of MPEG is not so good like when rendering with TMPGenc.Some good advice?

mainconcept mpeg encoder, canopus procoder or cce basic.
