Just guessing looking at the error messages but this part gives it away Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format

It looks like your Sony burner doesn't recognise the media you are using, Sony are well known for being fussy on what media it will accept

Try changing to another totally different media and see if that helps. Also, assuming you are using rewritables, have you formatted the disc first

Try looking to see if there has been a firmware update that included what you are using, they may even be a hacked firmware that adds support for the media you have

Check this link for firmware, its the best place for official and hacked firmware to give media that isn't supported or other extras

Also, have a look at this link I found with somebody else having similiar problems with the same drive

  3. Found that the Sony DW-Q28A is also the same drive as the Sony DRU-800A which has firmware updates. Do you think that updating the firmware would be the solution?

  4. SOLUTION: To anyone experiencing problems with the SONY DW-Q28A DVDRW check your firmware. Turns out the drive is the same as the DRU-800A and you can update the firmware from KYS1 to KY04. Have been burning fine since the change, hope this helps others.

THANKS to all who helped out with this problem of mine. I really appreciate it.
