Hi, I have recently moved to Canada and picked up a Philips MX3910D home cinema system which I am really pleased with as it will play any DVD (I have used the multi region hack and play Region 2/4/region free in both PAL and NTSC) and MP3's / JPEG's from both CD's and DVD's. So far so good and the sound system is great too.
Now the problem I have is that the system is hooked up using the three component cables and during PAL DVD playback the video signal appears to disappear for a second or two every now and again (sound from the unit continues. The TV (plasma) registers this by giving a "no signal" message. This probelm does not appear to happen if I hook up a composite video lead ( or on a NTSC DVD).
I want to keep the component connections for the better quality but can't understand why I should get the problem in the first place. Could it be a faulty unit or what ?
Any ideas or cures ? Many thanks.
