Don't know if it will work or not but you might try to unplug the unit for a couple of minutes and plug it back in.

Sometimes leaving it off for awhile will work...otherwise the player is most likely dead.

  4. This is probably the beginning of the end for your player. But if you don't mind the hassle, you can clean it out using one of those cleaner discs and it will play fine for about a day or two. Then you'll have to repeat the process. You'll have to do this more frequently with the passing of time until the machine is completely dead. I speak of this from my own experience.

  5. I'm thinking it might be your dvd laser. Will it still play CD's or CD-R's?

  7. I have the same player its a sad story that’s all I can say. Mine freezes after 10 min no matter what kind of movie I watch. I pointed a fan to cool it down. No luck, updated the firmware, no luck
Thanks to divxtodvd I don't need a divx player anymore, and if I do I will buy the one from PIONEER

Well a DVD player has one laser for reading DVDs and a different laser for reading CDs. If your DVD player plays one and not the other, it is probably due to one of the lasers burning out.
