  1. If I get a multi-regional DVD player to play a PAL DVD in the NTSC region and then connect it to my Pioneer DVD stand alone recorder will the recorded disk be NTSC format? It sounds logical to me that it would be but I want to be sure before I spend the money....thanks

  2. Ooooooooooh lots of issues here:-

1: Will the source disk be a commercial one, if it is then you cannot copy it anyway, you'd have to burn a ripped version (Using dvd decrypter for instance),

2: then insert the copy in your dvd player that you say is region free, and if it will play a pal dvd on a ntsc tv then yes the output will be ntsc and the recorder will record in ntsc if the recorder is an ntsc one !

  4. Then it should work outputting ntsc from your dvd player to your ntsc dvd recorder.

Be careful, Multi Region doesn't mean it will convert PAL to NTSC. You need a PAL to NTSC converting player, as well as multi region.
