  1. I am trying to process a Divx to DVD. I have the process completed as far as the conversion is concerned but am having issues with encoding it. I am using TMPGenc to encode the video and TMPGenc Author to create the DVD. The issue is that TMPGenc Author is telling me that the Video I encoded and the Wav audio are too big for a DVD. I know that the issue has something to do with the WAV file not being compressed or not being taken into account properly when I use a bitcaculator to figure my Avg. bitrate. The instructions I have tell me that if the audio source is a wav to use 224 kbits/s for the audio value in my bitcaclulator. The average bitrate I get is 4255 kbit/s. Does this sound right? Should I compress the audio yielding more bits for the video?

    video = avi
    audio = wav
    length = 2.15.58

    Thanks

    wav audio is uncompressed and 1536kbit/s. you can compress it to ac3 or mpeg audio and use 224kbit/s.

  3. Thanks so much for the quick reply. Which would be best? Is there a difference? Can you please point me to a resource that has this procedure?

    Thanks Again.

    tmpgenc dvd author can convert the wav to mpeg audio and ac3 if you get the ac3 plugin.
