    Hello all,

I have a huge problem. I spent a few weeks working on this project with ULead DVD Workshop 2.231. I finalized the authoring process today and it took ONE HOUR and THIRTY MINUTES!!!. Is this normal?. The size is 4.4GB with 13 20 minute clips, 33 menu's with 33 30 second clips. The video is already encoded in m2v format and audio is in AC3 format.

After the authoring process, it made the dvd compliant video_ts and audio folder but another folder showed up as DWS_TS. Upon checking this folder it contains all the menu and audio information. I noticed the audio has been re-encoded also. Here are screenshots of what I mean:

    After clicking the DWS_TS folder

    The CVT_menu folder

    The CVT_title folder

Anybody know what the hell is going on here?. I spent two weeks on this project and it will be a complete waste if I have to use another authoring program. Thanks

P.S. - The convert to disc template box is unchecked.

Those are temp folders for the muxing process.
It does not mean anything was re-encoded.

A 90 minute encode could be motion menus, which encoding DOES happen, that is how menus are made.

    Would have to know more.

    Lordsmurf,

Thanks for the reply. I actually just burned a dvd without the DWS_TS folder to see what happens. Just what I thought there were no menu's. I'm going to mux the clips with tmpgenc and re-add to the project without the seperate m2v and ac3 tracks. I'll post and let you know what happens.

Thanks again. This time I'll try the ISO format and see if it helps anything

You sure the files are compliant?
What are the audio and video specs of your files?

  5. A lot of Ulead products have the option to include your project settings and sources on the DVD. Just turn the option off.

What a day trying to figure this thing out, LOL. Here's the deal:

I muxed the files seperately in tmpgenc. Upon the authoring process, it skipped re-enconding the audio!!!. Now, the authoring time was 50 minutes as opposed to my 90 minute time from before. There is still a problem. It creates that DWS_TS folder again and the DVD won't have menus unless I add that into the compilation.

I then tried the disc image option. This is great and after looking into the iso file, there was no dws_ts folder. I have never burned a disc image before with my dvd burner but many times with my old cd burner, so i do know how.

I made 3 damn coasters trying to burn them to my DVD+R Fujifilm 8x MIT. The disc becomes unreadble in the dvd-rom drive and dvd player. When burning to a DVD+RW Sony 4x, it works flawlessly.

Do you guys think its the media thats causing this error or is the iso in a different format?. I remember when burning with nero, it said CD-ROM ISO, or something even though DVD was selectedd.

If this is the cracked version of DVDWS2, that may be part of the problem. The cracked trial apparently has all sorts of problems. Good reason for people to actually buy it.

Not accusing of anything, but it needs to be said.

That probably is the reason then. This not the trial though, its the full DVD version or whatever it comes on, the file was 900mb.

I originally had a legal version of dvd lab but due to its limiting abilities my friend gave me ULead which has limitless possibilites in my mind. Unfortunately, there's no way I can vouch out $400 for this great piece of software. Ah well, 3 weeks of work down the drain, lol.

ULead is smart though implementing a security feature like this, kudo's to them.

The ISO file is fine, I'm going to go out tomorrow and buy some different media, maybe that will solve it. If not, I'll just stop using this program all together.
