    Hello People,

I have wierd problem playing any brand 8x DVD+R/RW after I burned them. Neither my PCs DVD-ROM or stand alone player are taking it giving me errors like "Cannot play disc" or "Disc is dirty"

At same time I am able to play any brand 4x DVD+R/RW without any problem.

    Whats possibly causing this?
    Any suggestions please?

    TIA

If the 8x discs were burned at 8x, try burning one at 4x. (Do you really have 8x +RW's?)

I was waiting for this question ...no, I dont have 8x +RWs

I do NOT have any problem (i think) with choosing 4x speed during burning my home movies. Just choose desired speed before burn.

But in case of ripping (decrypting and shrinking) I am stuck because my burning software starts to burn right after shrinking is finished and I dont know how to I set burn at 4x speed.

    TIA

What are programmes are you using?
If its DVD Shrink then DVD Decryptor why not just generate the ISO image an burn afterwards?

Yeah, nice idea! I was thinking about this!

I am using Nero Express, but I also have TMPEG DVD Author. Can I use it for burning that ISO image?

I just got used to situation when its all done automatically.

Do I have to rip it in ISO and then shrink that ISO?
Will it work only if I need only MAIN MOVIE?

    TIA

Yes; you'll use DVD Shrink in the normal method (either entire disc or just the movie) and either save the result as an ISO (disc image) or as a VIDEO_TS folder. If you use the latter, almost any burning app will be able to handle it.

I don't think TMPGEnc DVD Author will generate an ISO Image (well I haven't figured out how so would love to be corrected). What you can do though is use ImgTools Classic to convert your VIDEO_TS to an ISO Image, which can then be burnt with DVD Decrypter.

I know its nice to have the whole system automated but that only works when things are working flawlessly. When you are trouble shooting you'll need to verify each step in turn. Then you can try to piece it back together again.

    hello people,

Thanks to you all I solved the problem.

There are many different ways to do it. For me its either to use 4x DVD+R/-R discs or make discs of higher speed to be burnt at 4x.

    thanks again,

    thanks People again!

What I did is I started to decrypt in ISO image file (i did it before in File mode), shrink and then burn at 4x speed even if disk of higher speed.

It solved all my problems... atleast for now!

You'd be quite happy then to know that it can - go into the Disk Writing Tool (or whatever it calls it), and you'll see a button called "Create ISO" or something like that. just select the folders you want contained in the ISO (normally just AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS) and away you go
    If in doubt, Google it.
