Sounds like eitehr your player can't play RWs, or your RW is dead. They don't last forever, and depending on the brand can fail after only a few writes. Toss it and get a new one.

My jury is still out on the burning capabilities of this program. One would imagine that it's probably got the same burning engine as CopyToDVD, but I don't know for sure.

Perhaps try burning with something like Nero Express(guide here) or any other "reputable" burning software that is known to work with your RWs and DVD player(s).
    If in doubt, Google it.

I use VSO DivxtoDVD and it works great. But I don't use it to burn. Try burning with something else like nero as suggested here.

I have never used DivxtoDVD to burn, but I use copytoDVD all the time and never have a problem with it.

  7. I use The Film Machine for AVI to DVD conversions.

    It does everything I want:

AC3 sound, AVI merging, subtitles, burning etc.

It can interface with CinemaCraft and now supports the Roba encode method which is extremely fast with results comparble to CCE's 4-pass.

The latest beta also uses DGPulldown for PAL to NTSC conversions which is the most efficient method. It keeps the MPEG-2 framerate at 25fps but applies 3:2 pulldown flags for NTSC playback.

why dont you use it to burn? does it not play on your dvd player for you? I want try again and burn it but i dont want to mess up another DVD+RW. They kind cost a lot.
