23.976 FPS Subtitles out of sync with movie.

I have a movie which is split in 3 parts (3 AVI files). I need to convert these all into one 1 DVD. I know that I have to merge these files into 1 big AVI file, which I have already done using append AVI segment and direct stream copy for both (audio and video) using VirtualDub. But the problem comes with the subtitles. I have 3 AVI files and 3 different subtitles files also (.srt). I have joined them using Subtitle Workshop into one subtitle file. But when I play the full AVI file with the full subtitle file, subs get out of sync after 1st CD duration is over. Following are the details of the files:

Once again, I can convert the full AVI file into DVD MPEG file. But the full subtitles file is out of sync with the full AVI file. Once it gets sync with the full AVI file, my problem is solved. I select 23.976 FPS and Recalculate time settings when merging Subtitles files into one file, but no luck.

Hope I have made my question clear. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong or what more shoudl I do?

i was having this problem too, but i think it is a bug in subtitle workshop rather than a problem with our videos/.SRT files. i think the problem is that subtitle workshop calculates the new times for the subtitles from the second file incorrectly. i think it just takes the time of the last subtitle in the first .SRT file and adds this to the times in the second .SRT file. the problem with this is the last subtitle is not necessarily at the end of the video. this bug would be carried over to the times in the third (etc.) .SRT also. to work around this, i just added a subtitle to the end of the first .SRT file which occurred at the very end of the video. for example, if the first video is 00:53:21,133 in length, then this is what the new .SRT would look like:

now, subtitle workshop sees the last subtitle, occurring at the very end of the video, and properly calculates the times for the subtitles in the second .SRT file. repeat the procedure for more .SRT files. hope this helps!
