when I convert the video to NTSC using "QuEnc" then do "pulldown" to put in 29 fps and the authoring with "DVDLab pro" the subtitle is getting out of sync, but not much. I noticed that when I do it with videos at 25fps not need to "pulldown" I have no problem with the subtitle.

    can someone help me?

  2. Applying pulldown doesn't change the length of the video and hence won't throw the subtitles off. Unless ... unless you encode at 25fps and then apply traditional 23.976->29.97fps pulldown. If you encoded at 25fps use DGPulldown set for 25->29.97fps to keep the video the same length and the subs in synch.

If at the end of the movie the subs are a few seconds off, it's not a pulldown issue but a drop-frame issue (30fps .vs 29.97fps), and you probably created the subs wrong to begin with. If the subs are off by several minutes at the end then the pulldown was applied incorrectly.

I think the "DVDLab Pro" is modifying my subtitle because when the "DVDLab Pro" is suing the subtitle it says: item xxxx [WARNING] the current SPU end time code go larger than SPU next start time code. Fixed! "several times"

  4. I don't use DVDLab so don't know for sure, but that particular warning seems to point to a clash of some subs. Some apparently end after the next one begins. That's a big no-no but (seemingly) unrelated to the larger problem of the subs being out of synch. Let me understand better. Are you saying the subs start off OK and slowly get more and more off as the movie goes along? If so, how long is the movie and how much are they off by the end

They are disappearing before they should, but probably the "DVDLab Pro" is doing it.

So when you encode at 25 fps you don't have sync problems, but when you encode at 23.976 fps (with pulldown), you do get sync problems ?

Could it be as simple as your source files are PAL @ 25 fps, with subtitles timed for 25 fps playback ? In which case, if you change the playback speed of your video (by encoding or re-timing it to 23.976 fps) then you also have to adjust the timing of your subtitles to match. You may be able to use something like subtitle workshop to do this.
