Lite On 1693 DVD burner

Yes i know a couple of local friends who just purchased the lite on 1693, Is this a good "Stable" burner??? Does it burn ok with -R media???? Does it have bittsetting where you can make a +r show as DVD rom(I think i said that right)??

LITEON drives prefer DVD+R media, it does have BITSETTING CAPABILITIES as well. If you want more info on LITEON drives check out the LITEON FORUM at Cdfreaks.com.

Thanks Budz, One more question, When i'm hearing people say that certain drives like +R or whatever media, Does this mean that they get errrors? or produce coasters,? or Does the drive burn ok or just that on the scans the quality is not as good???

just means you could get coasters.....as suggested go to the LITEON FORUM at CDFREAKS.COM.....i have a old LITEON 411@811 drive and it was horrid at burning DVD-R media.....i don't keep up with LITEON drives because in my opinion the BENQ burners are much better with DVD-R media as well as DVD+R....lastly scanning should be done if you're having playback problems......
