Is it possible to play dvd rip (.avi file on computer) on real dvd player with tv. Should i burn the avi file on dvd or can it be done with normal cds?

convert to vcd,svcd on cd media, https://www.videohelp.com/convert#4;11
Some dvd players supports avi divx,xvid and then you can just burn the avi on a cd or dvd.
