  3. ok i did that but it came out looking pixelated. On the same note i tried using moviestar 5 to capture this time because i no how to control everything but i capture again and it did the same as the vegas 6 did.... now im figuring it got something with me going thru my firewire card because when i use my dazzle dvd creation station 200 capture device on anything it keeps it all one big mpg 2 file. How can i get these softwares to capture my video like it suppose to??????

I had compared it to MainConcept MPEG Enc, which is supposed to be good, as well as to the lousy Ulead MF and InterVideo WinDVD Creator won hands down.
    However, that the easiest way.
For best results in acquiring video footage and then encoding to mpeg2, IMHO nothing beats the combo WinDV + Canopus Procoder Express for both quality and value for the bucks.
The former is free and the latter costs only around 50 bucks.
Yes, it does take two steps to tget to mpeg2. But, after you've seen the results, you will not want to go back.
BTW, I am not affiliated with neither of the makers of the above softwares. I am just a happy customer!!!!

What do you intend to do with your video ? You have Vegas 6, so I assume you intend to edit the footage before converting it to a more suitable format, probably DVD. Vegas is a great editor, but it's format of preference is DV. Converting to mpeg-2 at capture time reduces quality and makes editing more difficult. I suggest that rather than wasting money on a mpeg-2 capture application, you would be better served spending that money on buying a big hard drive. If you are going to do video editing, you will need it.

Unless, of course, quality isn't something you are concerned with.
